Certified Procedural Coding Specialist - Little Rock

Description: The University of Arkansas
for Medical Sciences, College of Medicine, Department of Surgery
(Physician's Offices) is seeking a certified procedural coding
specialist to serve as coding support for the UAMS Department of Surgery
to maximize professional clinical reimbursement in accordance with state
and federal guidelines. This position works with faculty and staff to
ensure that CPT and ICD-9 codes for inpatient/outpatient surgery are
correctly coded, documented and accurately keyed into the UAMS Faculty
Group Practice billing system. The Department practice includes the
specialties of vascular, cardiovascular, plastics, transplant, oncology,
pediatrics, general surgery/trauma.
Qualifications: A high school diploma
or GED plus 3 to 4 years of physician coding experience with 1 to 2 of
those years in a surgical specialty. Must be a Certified
Professional Coder (CPC) and be proficient in CPT and ICD-9 coding.
Must be able to provide your AAPC Member ID for credential verification.
May be asked during interview process to code an operative note and/or
out-patient progress note upon request.

HIM Director - Hope

planning, organizing, directing the Health Information Management
department. Duties include, but are not limited to,
management of employees; daily, weekly and monthly statistical reports;
works with medical staff and hospital departments on medical record
related issues; appropriately handles all subpoenas and court orders for
copies of medical records; manages chart reviews, discharge analysis
procedures.
Qualifications:RHIT or
RHIA certification; 2 years of supervisory experience, coding and
transcription of medical records. Knowledge of CPSI helpful. Must
possess excellent oral and written communication skills and decision
making skills; Ability to work closely with physicians, patients,
visitors and other hospital personnel. Work is of high demand and fast
paced.
