Community Education
How do I create my personal health record?
How do I use my personal health
record?
Who else has access to my health
information?
Why should I keep a personal health
record?
How do health insurance companies use
my health information?
What is a medical record?
How is my health information collected
and where does it go?
These are a few of the questions that can
be answered with our free public education program entitled "Your Personal Health
Information: How to Access, Manage, and Protect it."
The goal of the program is
to teach participants how to maintain a personal health record (PHR).
The PHR is a collection of important information about your health that
you actively maintain and update. The information comes from your
healthcare providers and from you. It can include anything that
affects health, including information that doctors may not have, such as
your exercise regimen, dietary habits, and over-the-counter medications.
The PHR enables the patient
to partner with healthcare providers, may reduce or eliminate duplicate
procedures or processes, gives knowledge that assists in preparation
for appointments, and overall gives a more intimate knowledge of health information
for a more active role in
preventative care and management.
The presentation lasts for
about one hour. For more information about the program, or to schedule a
presentation for your group, please email us at

Arkansas recognized by AHIMA: RACE Honorable Mention for 2009 Coding
Roundtable Activities
Arkansas was nominated by
the board of ArHIMA for CSA Team Recognition for Coding
Roundtable Activities for her
work on both the state and national level and received an honorable
mention.
The recognition for this
award is based upon the roundtable activities that have stayed connected
to its members by providing the members with educational opportunities
outside of face-to-face meetings, such as online chats. This team will
also have served local community needs by supporting the roundtable
process in local areas.
