Graduate Scholarship Recipients
Mollie Tanner
Born and raised in Arkansas, Mollie Penick Tanner graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management. Beginning her career at CHI St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, Arkansas, she then served as Medical Records Coder and later as Health Information Management Director and HIPAA Compliance Officer at CHI St. Vincent in Morrilton. From there, she went on to success in different aspects of the business management world including web design and entrepreneurship through Tanner Organic Farm as well as non-profit development with FarmBox2Family 501(c)(3). While she succeeded and thoroughly enjoyed entrepreneurship and philanthropy, life experiences have all directed her back to education and a desire to create positive change in health information management enterprise. Being able to achieve her master’s degree, particularly in Health Informatics, has been a lifelong dream.
Daniel Childers
Daniel Childers is a first-generation and nontraditional student pursuing a Master of Science in Health Informatics. He received his Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management from Arkansas Tech University in August 2020 and passed his Registered Health Information Administrator exam in October 2020. Currently, Daniel works as a graduate assistant in the Department of Health Informatics and assists his professors in the Health Informatics program with research on telehealth. After graduation, Daniel hopes to work in health IT and use his passion for telehealth to improve the patient experience and increase access to care. Outside of his studies, volunteering, work, and organizational commitments, Daniel can be found playing video games or walking the local trails.

Heather Proctor
Heather Proctor is a junior at Arkansas Tech University majoring in Health Information Management with plans to graduate in August of 2022. Heather’s favorite thing to do is spend time with my family and friends.
Abby Biggs
Abby Biggs is from Paris, AR and a senior at Arkansas Tech University graduating in August 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management. She will be starting the graduate program of Health Informatics at Arkansas Tech in the fall. In the future, she hopes to work in compliance.
