ACTION ALERT: Email Your Members of Congress and Ask them to Repeal Section 510

Congress is beginning its Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27) budget process, and we need you to take action to urge your members of Congress to repeal the ban on a unique patient identifier in the FY27 Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies (Labor-HHS) appropriations bill!

It’s essential that we make sure every US Senator and US Representative hears about the impact of patient misidentification and what they can do to help.

While support has grown over the past few years for the repeal of Section 510, the ban on a unique patient identifier, it still remains in the federal budget. We need you to write to your members of Congress to urge them to finally repeal this outdated ban. Section 510 has been a barrier to moving forward with a national strategy on patient identification, and we must make sure your voice is heard on this issue.
