Tina Cikanek, MBA, RHIA, CCS

Tina Cikanek, MBA, RHIA, CCS was recently inducted as the President of the ArHIMA. She is a nine-year veteran Health Information Management Program Director and Instructor at NorthWest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville. Ms. Cikanek served ArHIMA in the past as secretary and had volunteered as the Program Committee chair in 2018 and 2019.

Melissa Zavadil, RHIT, CCS, COC, CRC, has been selected as the President-Elect of ArHIMA. She is employed by Administrative Consultant Services, LLC and provides consultation for all aspects of hospital outpatient coding and clinical documentation that includes ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS compliance. Ms. Zavadil has more than 25 years of leadership experience in coding and revenue cycle management for healthcare systems throughout Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri. She also serves as a volunteer for AHIMA’s Mentoring Program and is the Coding Roundtable Coordinator for ArHIMA.

Sherry Slay, BS, RHIT, fulltime HIM faculty member for NorthWest Arkansas Community College will serve as Secretary. In this role, she has been instrumental in developing statistics and data analytics courses along with her other teaching duties. Ms. Slay is a recent graduate from Charter Oak State College with her bachelor’s degree in health information management and a previous graduate of the NorthWest Arkansas Community College program. She is passionate about promoting and advocating for health information and takes the opportunity to share that excitement with her students transitioning into the field.

Darla Sparacino, MSHI, MEd, RHIA

Darla Sparacino, MSHI, MEd, RHIA

Darla Sparacino, MSHI, MEd, RHIA, will serve ArHIMA as Treasurer for the next two years. She taught at Arkansas Tech University for 25 years in the health information management program and master’s program of health informatics. Ms. Sparacino also serves as chair of the Professional Development committee and the Public Relations/Marketing committee. She has been involved in ArHIMA in the past being elected President twice and has volunteered on numerous committees. After being diagnosed with a rare, genetic disease, Friedreich’s Ataxia, she decided to quit work and enjoy life.

Lisa Daniels, RHIT, Director of Health Information Management at the Arkansas Surgical Hospital, was recently inducted as First Year Director of ArHIMA. She is a graduate from the Health Information Technology Program at National Park College in Hot Springs. Ms. Daniels has served in several capacities for ArHIMA to include chair of the Vendor Arrangements committee and member of the Budget and Finance committee.

Debby Hunt, MSHI, RHIA, CCS, will serve ArHIMA as Second Year Director. She is the Health Information Technology and Professional Medical Coding Program Director at National Park College. Ms. Hunt has served as an educator for over 15 years. Prior to becoming an educator, she worked in the healthcare industry for 20 years in various leadership roles. She has served ArHIMA in numerous positions over the years.
