Assists with the management of coding staff. Audits charts and/or researches identified opportunities as directed to ensure correct codes and APC/DRG Assignment, charging, etc. as appropriate. Works reports to include Alpha-Di, Outpatient Exception, Case Mix Index, etc. Conducts department quality assessment and improvement. Assists with conducting coding department in services and training and keeping appropriate documentation, minutes, sign-in sheets, etc. Codes all types of charts and enters charges as directed.
Two years supervisory or management experience. Extensive knowledge of revenue cycle along with federal, state and payer-specific regulations. Expert knowledge of ICD-10 CM/PCS and CPT-4 and HCPCS coding. Extensive experience with denials management. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and other software and database experience required.
Registered Health Information Administrator, Registered Health Information Technician, or Certified Coding Specialist with American Health Information Management Association credentials.
