July 2026 Health Information Workplace Survey
Dear ArHIMA Members,
The ArHIMA Board invites you to participate in an important national research initiative examining the evolving Health Information (HI) workforce.
Earlier this year, ILHIMA published “Beyond Traditional and Nontraditional Roles: Reframing Health Information Practice Through the Health Information Continuum,” which challenges the longstanding practice of categorizing health information careers as either “traditional” or “nontraditional.” Instead, the Health Information Continuum presents a more inclusive framework that recognizes the full spectrum of roles, practice settings, and career pathways within the profession. To build on this work, a nationwide survey is being conducted to better understand where health information professionals are working today and how our profession continues to evolve.
Your participation will help provide valuable data to support workforce planning, educational programs, career advising, and future research while ensuring that the many career paths within Health Information are accurately represented.

Takes approximately 5–10 minutes to complete.
Open to all health information professionals, regardless of career stage or practice setting.
Responses are completely anonymous and will only be reported in aggregate.
Deadline is Aug 30th.
Every response helps create a more comprehensive understanding of today’s Health Information workforce and supports the future of our profession.
